Census Bureau: 79.3% of people in Cocke County were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 35,896 citizens living in Cocke County in 2021, 79.3% were old enough to vote, equating to 28,464 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 13,722 were male, constituting 48.2%, and 14,742 were female, making up 51.8%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Cocke County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 77.6%.
