On Saturday January 21,2023 at approximately 3:15 pm Deputies were dispatched to Davis Rd in Strawberry Plains on a report of an assault that resulted from a domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival they were met by the victims who were husband and wife. They stated that Nicholas Shawn Knight age 35 brother of the husband had assaulted them and was armed with a rifle. They stated that Nicholas had left the residence prior to their arrival and was last scene walking toward farmland behind the house. The Special Operations Response Team (S.O.R.T.) was activated and deployed to the scene. Two teams were deployed along with 2 K-9’s and the Sheriffs Office drone “ Falcon.” Approximately 20 minutes into the search team members located the suspect in a tree line armed with a rifle, They challenged the suspect to drop the weapon and he complied and taken into custody. He is being held at the Jefferson County Detention Center on two counts of Aggravated Assault. White Pine Police Department and Tactical Dispatcher from Jefferson County 911 responded and assisted in this operation.
