The Emergency Services unit of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in comprised of 115 fully trained volunteers, who have the skills and equipment to respond to residents hit by flooding, high velocity winds, and tornados. Last year, this group provided over 45,443 hours of service to the community and is on call, 24/7/365. A new Emergency Services training class begins on January 10. SCSO also has other volunteer opportunities including Reserves, Senior Services, Special Event Services, and Search and Rescue.
