Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Elder Abuse Leads to Charges and Death Investigation

On Wednesday, November 17, 2022 Deputies responded to Jefferson Memorial ER on a report of possible elder abuse. Upon their arrival, they were briefed by ER staff of the medical condition of a 71 year old female that had been brought in by EMS, her condition at the time was reported as critical. Investigators with the Criminal Investigation Division, responded to the home located on Clevenger Road in New Market, Tennesse, where they arrested Elizabeth Ann Rollins for aggravated neglect of an elderly or vulnerable adult. Deputies and Investigators later returned to the residence to execute a search warrant when they were notified by hospital staff that the victim had died. The deceased has been identified as Sylvia E. Rollins who is also the mother of the suspect. Her body was transported to the Knox County Regional Forensic Center for an autopsy. Elizabeth Rollins is currently being held at the Jefferson County Detention Center under a $100,000.00 bond. This is an active investigation, pending autopsy results further charges are possible in this case.
