Lovin’s Furniture Appliances Bedding of Talbott, Tenn., was named the 2022 BrandSource Dealer of the Year for the Southeast Region at the BrandSource Convention and product exposition in Dallas. Owners Phillip and Amanda Lovin were honored at the annual awards ceremony, which was a highlight of the retail organization’s four-day national gathering at the Gaylord Texan in August.
The couple began the business in 2003 as 1,100-square-foot consignment shop, built upon the family’s furniture industry background. Since then, successive expansions led to their current 15,000-square-foot showroom and 5,000-square-foot warehouse, and the addition of upholstery, bedding, case goods, home appliances, and most recently sports and collectible cards.
“The best decision we ever made was convincing Amanda to leave her 14-year cellphone career and come sell furniture,” Phillip said. “And sell she definitely has!”
But beyond providing the community with home furnishings — and proving to be the only place in town with appliance inventory during the pandemic — the deeply devout Lovins believe their greatest gift to customers is sharing the love and hope of their faith with everyone who walks through their door.
The family also credits its accomplishments in part to membership in BrandSource, which Phillip considers his second-best decision after luring Amanda away from the wireless trade. “BrandSource and the Southeast Region have added immeasurable success to our business,” he said, citing the group’s merchandising, marketing, operational and peer support. “We will forever be thankful for that first meeting with our Region Manager Tim Clements because it has led to lifetime friendships and amazing new worlds.”
The annual BrandSource Dealer of the Year awards are presented to members who consistently support the group’s initiatives, retailers, and vendor partners, and demonstrate that commitment by attending regional meetings and national gatherings such as the BrandSource Convention and annual spring Summit. The honorees are selected from each of the group’s 14 regions by their fellow dealers, and exemplify excellence in the retail industry and the independent home goods channel.
